Simple Paint Projects That Can Have a Big Impact | D&D Painting

If you want to have a big impact on the look of your home without taking on a big project, you should consider painting. Repainting the exterior of your house or every room on the inside can clearly make a big difference. But you do not have to take on such a large-scale project to get noticeable results. Simple paint projects such as painting an accent wall, painting doors, painting bathrooms, and power washing your house can have a big impact.

Accent wall

An accent wall is one wall in a room that is painted or designed differently than every other wall. It provides you with the opportunity to make bold color and design choices without overwhelming the entire room. Accent walls draw the eye to them and are often immediately noticeable even in large rooms. As far as paint projects go, it does not get much easier than painting just one wall.

Paint the doors

Doors often get overlooked when homeowners think about paint projects. This is unfortunate because painting your front door or even the interior doors can have a big impact on the look of your house. Consider the difference that occurs when you paint your white front door a shade of deep red, or vice versa. The impact is immediate and very noticeable especially when you consider the size of your door in relation to your home. Painting your interior doors is a way to add color without painting an entire wall or room. And, painting a few doors is easier and quicker that painting your entire house.

Paint your bathroom

In many homes the bathrooms are the smallest rooms. You can do a lot with paint in these small spaces. When compared to painting other areas of your house, painting the bathroom is a relatively simple project. You can make bold color choices in the small areas without being afraid that you are making a costly and time-consuming mistake. If it doesn’t work out you can choose another color and paint again.

Power washing

Power washing is not really a paint project but it is a simple way to improve the look of your paint job. The exterior of your home is constantly exposed to the elements. This means that it can easily develop a buildup of dirt and grime. This buildup can cause your house to look dull and dingy. Having your home pressure washed can quickly remove years’ worth of dirt and have a big impact on the look of your home.

If you want to make a change to the look of your house but are not ready for a completely new paint job, consider starting with one of the small projects mentioned above. You may be surprised to see how big of a difference these small changes can make to your home.
